Jackie Stanco is Named GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week

SACRAMENTO Calif.- Junior Jackie Stanco from Varsity soccer is named GoTroubies.com Athlete of  the Week, for the week of Feb. 10-14. Stanco has played soccer for the past 12 years, she started when she was just four years old. She currently plays for San Juan Soccer Club.

Jackie scored two goals on Feb. 7 against school rival Davis High School. Varsity finished the game with a 4-1 win. Their goals are the most scored against Davis since 2007.

Varsity also defeated Pleasant Grove 4-0 and Franklin 3-0, to close the league season. Varsity has great momentum going into the first Section Playoff game on Feb. 19 at 4:00 p.m. 

Q&A With Jackie Stanco

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

"My favorite soccer athlete is Robert Lewandowski because he plays the same position as me and he is Polish."

Why do you love playing for SF?

"This is my first year playing for SF so I still have a lot to learn but the atmosphere is so much fun because at the end of the day I'm playing with some of my best friends."

What is something you or your team have been improving on throughout the season?

"I think we have been trying to improve on our confidence since last year our seniors played a big part for us."

What do you do to prepare for a game?

"I personally love music before a game because it gets me hyped up."
