Alumna Elise Urkov Named Patriot League Player, Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - St. Francis alumna Elise Urkov '19 of the Army West Point women's soccer team earned two weekly awards on Monday, announced by the Patriot League. The freshman was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors after a six-point week. 

"We are so pleased for Elise to gain recognition early in the season," said head coach Adrian Blewitt. "She has taken her goals well and her performances are progressing as our team continues to also. She has a great future ahead of her!"

Urkov netted two goals in the Black Knights' 3-2 comeback victory over reigning America East Champion, Albany. on Thursday. She registered her first collegiate points on goals spaced 11 minutes apart. On Sunday, the Sacramento, Calif., native scored in the 11th minute in the Cadets' shutout of LIU, which also marked the game-winning goal. 

She totals six points this season to pace Army's offense. The rookie is second in the Patriot League in scoring. 

The Black Knights travel to Air Force on Friday (9 p.m. ET) and Colorado College on Sunday (1 p.m. ET).
