Soccer Defeats Sheldon 6-0

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Taylor Earle had a hat trick and junior Jackie Stanco scored twice as St. Francis posted a 6-0 shutout over Sheldon. SF improved to 2-0 in league play and unbeaten on the season at 7-0-1.

Stanco and Earle took turns scoring goals in the first half Wednesday as the Troubadours built a 4-0 lead in the first half. Stanco opened the scoring off an assist by Micayla Ratukalou in the 10th minute with Earle following less than a minute later again off a Ratukalou assist. Earle got her second unassisted to push the lead to 3-0 and Stanco followed.

Senior Lindsey Piatanesi completed the scoring in the half for a 5-0 lead as junior Beanie Kreling tallied the assist.

Earle completed the hat trick in the second half for a 6-0 lead and improve her season total to six goals on the season, while Stanco maintained her team lead with eight. Piatanesi now has two on the season.

St. Francis travels to Danville for the Tri-Valley Classic on Friday and Saturday, starting with Buchanan at 8:30 a.m. and Archbishop Mitty at 2:30 p.m. Mitty is No. 8 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com state rankings and 19th nationally with SF coming in at No. 14 and No. 32, respectively. Maxpreps has the Troubies at No. 5 in the state.
