DAVIS, Calif. – Junior Jackie Stanco scored two goals and had an assist in a 4-1 win over nationally-ranked No. 22 Davis, handing the Blue Devils their first loss of the season and first in league since 2015. It was the first win for St Francis over Davis since the Section semifinals in 2015.

"Davis is such a good opponent and they have a beautiful new field," said Head Coach Maryclaire Robinson '86. "To come in here and fight and battle to score a bunch of goals is fantastic. The challenge now is to take a deep breath, we have found our groove, and keep moving forward."

Junior Mia Solorio-Smith scored in the fifth minute off a blast from 30 yards out from the right sideline to the left corner of the net.

"We slayed the giant," said Robinson. "Davis has owned the Delta League ever since I have been coaching at St. Francis. It is a great win. Our seniors have never beaten Davis. One game defines you not. We have two more super tough opponents. Then the season starts all over. What a great team builder!"

The Troubadours took a 2-0 lead off a Jackie Stanco restart in the 27th minute.

"I think it was a necessity before the first half to make sure they knew we were going to come with the fire in the second half," said Stanco, who leads the league with 17 goals on the season.

Davis (9-1-3) got on the board to cut the lead to one in the second half but senior Taylor Earle got a key insurance goal in the 70th minute off a cross from Stanco. It was her 11th goal of the season.

"It was an awesome pass on the dribble and I knew if I made my run and went as hard as I could if the ball came to me I could put it right in," said Earle.

Stanco added her second goal to seal the victory.

St. Francis plays at nationally-ranked No. 42 Pleasant Grove (Game is at Sheldon HS) on Monday at 7 p.m. before hosting No. 41 Franklin for senior game on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
