Soccer Opens Delta League Slate with Win at CO

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Taylor Earle scored two minutes into the game as St. Francis never trailed in a 4-1 Delta League opener at Cosumnes Oaks.

Earle scored at the 1:45 mark of the first half off an assist by junior Jane Gregory, the first of two on the game for Gregory. It was the third straight game with a goal for Earle, who also leads the team in assists with five. Gregory now has three assists on the season.

Junior Jackie Stanco scored her sixth goal before the half for a 2-0 lead for the Troubadours.

Senior Marli Berry scored in the 75th minute on an assist by Kenna Delemos for her second of the season.

Junior Sarah Yuke got her second of the season to push the lead to 4-0. She was assisted by Micayla Ratukalou. The Wolfpack scored off a penalty kick to ruin the shutout bid. Senior Kim Riley and freshman Mia Collins combined in goal for the win.

The JV Gold team opened the day with a 1-0 win with a goal by Brooke Castro.

St. Francis hosts Sheldon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Cristo Rey High School before playing four games at the Tri-Valley Classic on Friday and Saturday in Danville.
