Basketball’s Fleming-Mullins Commits to University of the Pacific

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis senior Mia Fleming-Mullins has committed to the University of the Pacific and will attend and play basketball at the school next year.

"I am very excited," said Fleming-Mullins. "There is going to be great competition in the West Coast Conference. I am excited to better my game and be challenged. It has been my dream forever to play Division I college basketball so it is very exciting."

She will play for Head Coach Bradley Davis, who is entering his sixth season with the program. The program has produced back-to-back winning seasons and a WNIT postseason appearance.

"It is close to home and my parents will be able to still come watch my games," said Fleming-Mullins. "They are my biggest supporters so I am really happy they will be able to continue to see me play. All the coaches and players seem really nice so I am looking forward to being a Tiger. I am looking forward to starting a new relationship with my college team."

Fleming-Mullins (El Dorado Hills) averaged 17.2 points per game to lead the league and rank No. 114 in the state at the end of her senior season. She finished with 464 points, the second-best total in school history. She also ranked second in the league in rebounding at 7.6 and first in blocks per game (1.7). Overall she had seven double-doubles on the season.

"I am abundantly proud of Mia, she had a very big dream to play D1 collegiate basketball when I first started coaching her four seasons ago as a Freshman, and today as she commits to UOP she has certainly accomplished that goal," said St. Francis Head Coach Heather Volek Brownholtz. "Mia has an incredible work ethic, and true joy and love not only of the game but the process, and because of her passion and commitment to continue on that journey of improvement which is the most critical piece to success, I firmly believe she will put in the necessary work make her mark at UOP much like she has done at St Francis."

A three-year varsity letter winner, she was named the Delta League Player of the Year and was selected to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro, Optimist and All-NorCal All-Star teams.

"I am thankful for all the support from my teammates, coaches and parents," said Fleming-Mullins. "They helped my confidence grow each year. I could not have done without my team. We work together and I could not have done it without them."
