SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis basketball team posted a 50-37 victory over Sheldon Friday night to win their third straight Delta League to move into sole second place in the standings. Jasmine Lee hit two key three pointers in the third quarter that stopped a Huskie rally and rallied the team.

"We came out really slow in the second half and Jazzy is our energizer whenever she gets in the game," said senior Mia Fleming-Mullins. "She hit those back to back threes and it really set us up. It helped us get going to get the win."

Junior Sarah Cloninger and Fleming-Mullins both posted double-doubles led by Cloninger's game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Fleming-Mullins had 13 points and 12 boards. Lee finished with 11 points.

"It was super fun," said Lee. "We were in a rut and they were being aggressive and getting steals. Once we got a steal, I hit a three. Sarah got another and hit me in the corner and I was able to knock it down. It really got our momentum going."

After leading by double digits in the first half, Sheldon cut the lead to 24-22 at the half and tied the game at 24 in the third. The Troubadours then went on a 14-3 run sparked by the Lee triples to take control of the game. The Huskies managed just 13 points over the remainder of the game.

The Troubies traveled to Morago on Saturday to take part in the Lamorinda Classic against Piedmont and lost a tight 66-64 game after leading by seven heading into the fourth. SF had a chance to tie or win the game on the last possession.

Fleming-Mullins led the team with 23 points, while Mackenzie Le had nine points and a career-high tying 10 assists. Jasmine Lee added 12 points and Cloninger had 11 in the loss.

St. Francis (12-11) returns to league play with a home game against Davis on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
