Basketball Defeats McKinleyville at Lady Pirate New Year’s Shootout

PITTSBURG, Calif. – Senior Mia Fleming-Mullins scored a game-high 22 points and was named Outstanding Player of the Game in the St. Francis 68-41 win over McKinleyville at the Lady Pirate New Year's Shootout at Pittsburg High School.

Fleming-Mullins added seven rebounds, five steals, three steals and an assist in the win. Overall four players hit for double figures including 13 each by Nicole Rivera and Sarah Cloninger. Mackenzie Le added 10 points to the winning effort.

St. Francis (7-6) opened a double-digit first quarter lead as Fleming-Mullins (10) and Le (7) combined for 17 points. The Troubies led 25-11 and then held the Panthers to four points in the second to take a 43-15 lead into the half.

Senior Nicole Rivera, who missed the last five games, returned with nine first-half points and totaled four three-pointers in the contest.  She added six rebounds and six steals with two assists.

St. Francis returns to Pittsburg on Saturday morning for 10 a.m. tilt with Presentation.
