Get to Know: Basketball's #23 Jasmine Lee
Jasmine Lee is in her fourth season with the basketball program. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Senior Class President, ERA, Black Student Union and Guardian Angel (Peer Team).
 
How excited are you to get started?
 
"I am very excited. I am really sad it is the start of my last season. But I think we are going to go far and do great things with the passion and energy we all have."
 
What does it mean to you to be a captain?
 
"It means a lot. I have worked really hard to get where I am right now. It means a lot to me knowing that my coach trusted me enough to help lead the group of girls on this journey, especially a talented group of girls."
 
How have you got better since the uniforms were put away last year?
 
"I have out a lot into my game over the summer and individually. I have big shoes to fill with the seniors that graduated. I thought if I put in the work off the court, it will show on the court."
 
What has your tenure as Senior Class President been like?
 
"It has been rally fun and stressful. It is beneficial to work with the class and then the team. I use the same skills in different ways."
 
What are your hopes and dreams for college at this point?
 
"If I am able to play on a team, it would be a really great dream of mine but if not it is OK. It is a goal I strive for to show my talents on other teams."
 
What are your basketball goals?
 
"I really want us to win the Delta League and go to state. It is a long goal. But if we build a strong foundation we will be able to go far in the playoffs."
 
What is a fun fact about Jasmine?
 
"I used to do pageants and for the talent part of competition I sang and danced to the song "Oh Mickey".
 
If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, where would you live: Friends.
What is your Greatest Achievement: Taught a boy how to read at St. John's Shelter.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be: Telekinesis.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future: Past.
What's the concert you want to see: Boyz to Men.
What teacher has inspired you the most: Mr. Williams.
Favorite Holiday: Christmas.
