Bashore Named Junior Varsity Red Head Coach

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – John Bashore has been named the head coach of the Junior Varsity Red Basketball team, Varsity Head Coach Heather Brownholtz announced.

"Coach John Bashore is a dedicated and passionate coach and we are blessed to have him join our committed and talented basketball staff," said Brownholtz.  "As our program transitions to two JV teams, I am fully confident that Coach Bashore will lead our JV Red Troubies to success. Coach Bashore is fundamental and caring coach, he understands the skill development necessary for our Troubies to have success and he will prepare our JV Red Student Athletes to compete at a high level this upcoming season."

Bashore will be assisted by Emily Collins.

Bashore takes over for Brian Montes, who will serve as an assistant coach with the JV Gold team this season. Bashore has spent the last eight years coaching for the Saint Mary Mustangs and the last year coaching for the Sacramento Lady Rebels AAU team.

He spent 10 years as a Youth Sports Coordinator for the YMCA, coaching and coordinating youth basketball programs. John has spent his entire career working in the human service field with youth and families as a Recreation Specialist at local Sacramento high schools, Social Worker and Career Assessment Supervisor for the County of Sacramento.  

Bashore is a graduate of Saint Mary's College of California and holds a B.A. in Human and Community Services.  He and his wife, Ann, have three daughters Grace, Sarah and Audrey.
