MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif - Junior Lindsey Piatanesi was named the GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week for the week of February 25 - March 3, 2019. Piatanesi won the game for the St. Francis Troubadours at their CIF Northern California Soccer final on Saturday. In the second minute of overtime against the Mountain View Spartans, Piatanesi scored a left foot goal off of a pass from Jackie Koerwitz who received the ball off a corner kick.

"I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time," said Piatanesi. "It was most definitely a team effort, but I am extremely honored to have been the one to contribute to our winning result. I have been so blessed to work with such an amazing group of girls who all strive for success. It has been a great journey!"

The St. Francis varsity soccer team finished their season second overall in the Delta League, runner-up in the Sac Joaquin Division II section playoffs and the CIF Northern California Division II Regional Champions.

This week, there were two other athletes considered for this award. Junior Isabella Palchak won the high jump on Saturday at the Sacramento State High School Classic with a 5-2 jump and 5-4 jump Monday at the Holy Spikes meet against Christian Brothers and Cristo Rey High School. Senior swimmer Hannah Parulan also won three individual races at the Grizzly Invitational on Saturday and helped the Troubies take fifth place overall. She scored 76 points for the St. Francis swimming team.
