SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Senior soccer player Jackie Koerwitz is the GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week. She led the Troubie soccer team to a victory Tuesday night against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras. After coming back from an injury mid-season, Koerwitz has scored eight goals for the Troubies, three of which were during the playoff games.

Koerwitz says, "The team over the last few games have gotten a lot better and have brought a higher intensity and we continue to bring a higher intensity every game. I am excited to see what will happen with the rest of playoffs. My team and I have waited for this all year and now that it's here we are all taking advantage of it. Maryclaire always tells us 'We didn't come this far to go this far,' and it's so true. We are going to push and give it our all in our last games. "

Koerwitz will be back in action Thursday at the Sac Joaquin Section final against Whitney at 5:30 p.m. at Rocklin High School.
