ELK GROVE. - St. Francis got two goals and an assist from Janae DeFazio to post a 4-0 win over Pleasant Grove on Monday. Taylor Earle and Lindsey Piatanesi added goals, while Alexis Soloaga and Mikayla Ratukalou added assists.

"We are feeling really good about the offense and it is good to start putting some goals in the net," said junior Taylor Earle. "It is helping build more confidence and showing what we are trying at practice is paying off in the games."

Defazio opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the fourth minute. The Troubies got the opportunity when Emily Piaanesi got tangled with the PG goalie. Earle scored on a nice give-and-go with DeFazio minutes later to up the advantage to 2-0.

"Our team knew we had a tough opponent today and coming off Davis it was an important game," said DeFazio. "We had the mindset to come together as a team."

Piatanesi and DeFazio added second-half goals to add to the lead for the Troubadours.

"We felt we played really well as a team on Friday (vs. Davis)," said Earle. "We knew Davis was going to be a really good opponent. As a team we were proud of ourselves and today was really good to pick ourselves up after that and show we were more disciplined now."
