ROCKLIN, Calif. – The St. Francis soccer team posted a 3-0 win over host Rocklin to take the Rocklin Invitational title Saturday night. The Troubadours finished the 2-0-2 including a win over Laguna Creek and ties with Christian Brothers and Whitney.
Senior Caroline Urkov scored in the seventh minute off an assist by senior Janae DeFazio. Senior Lindsey Porter added the team's second goal five minutes later off an assist by junior Grace Barger, who assisted on the game-tying goal in the morning match against Christian Brothers.
DeFazio, who scored the team's goal against the Falcons, added a goal in the 40th minute that was assisted by Taylor Earle.
The Troubies host Del Oro on Monday at Cristo Rey High School at 4 p.m. followed by the junior varsity game at 6 p.m. The team is now 3-0-3 on the season.
