Janae DeFazio has been a four-year starter for the St. Francis program and has committed to play soccer at UCLA in the fall. She also played for the freshman volleyball in her first season. Janae has scored 39 career goals and recorded 30 assists in 80 career games.
What has the four years meant to you on the St. Francis soccer team?
"It has been really special. High school combines soccer, which I love, with my friends that I have been going to school with. Putting those two parts of my life together is really special."
How have got better as a player over your career?
"I have got better at the team aspect. Maryclaire stresses the team before the individual."
What are you looking forward to about attending and playing at UCLA?
"I am looking forward to being in the environment of the school and being challenged in both academics and sports. I want to be challenged to my full potential."
What advice do you have for your younger teammates heading into the playoffs?
"My advice would be to play for each other and don't be nervous and play hard."
What has been your favorite soccer memory?
"My favorite memory is Holy Cup sophomore season. We were down 2-0 and A.J. scored two goals to tie it at 2-2. In the last play, Savvy and I connected and I scored before the last whistle. It was the best feeling."
What do your senior teammates mean to you?
"We are all really close and I think we all know it is coming to an end. We have that connection and we have the same goals. We will stay close even after the season."

What is your Greatest Achievement: Committing to UCLA for soccer.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be: Mind reading.
