Get to Know: Soccer's #2 Grace Barger
Grace Barger is a two-sport standout playing for the Troubadours, accumulating five varsity letters. She has scored 19 goals in 69 games with soccer, while tallying 46 goals in 26 games with lacrosse. She does not have a favorite between the two sports. She participates in the Astronomy Club and volunteering with NCL.

Congrats on your last week! You have had a game-winning goal and playoff game goal to help your team in the last week. How fun has that been?
"It has been super fun. A lot of girls have been scoring too especially in our last game. It is always fun when a lot of girls score and fun when you score. When it is the game winner, it is great to contribute to the team especially when it really matters."

What do you enjoy most about being on the SF soccer team?
"All the girls on the team are the best. I look forward being able to hang out with them every day at practice and the connections we make on and off the field. We are a tight-knit group of girls this year and everyone is super awesome."

What is the biggest challenge of playing two sports?
"Scheduling and finding time to do homework and making everything work out going from sport to sport. The biggest challenge has been going from lacrosse practice after school to club soccer practice. Coach Jules has been super understanding and I have been lucky to be able to do both."

How do the two sports complement each other?
"They are similar. They are different in that in one you use your hands and other your feet. But the vision is the same. Both consist of a lot of running so fitness-wise it helps going from soccer to lacrosse."

What was your motivation behind your social media campaign #100happydays?
"My motivation was my cousin did it a couple years back. The social media platform can come across negatively. People always put pictures to show what they were doing and they're life is perfect. Obviously not everyone's life is perfect. My motivation was that everyone should be able to find something happy in their day every day. It inspired me to do it. I felt for 100 days I could find one thing each day to make me happy. I thought it be a positive movement on Instagram so I did with my friend Allie Belafsky."
