SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis was represented by 20 selections at the SportStars All-City Sports Awards Sunday at Raley Field.
Volleyball's Alexa Edwards was named the Player of the Year for the sport of volleyball, earning selection for the third season in a row. She joined Patricia Sweeney (golf), water polo's Kendall Houck and tennis' Adithi Benush with honors for the third time.
Golfer Olivia Alcoran, soccer's Jane DeFazio, distance standout Isabella Fauria earned the honor for the second time in their careers. Lacrosse sophomore Sophia Gorona was also on the team for the second consecutive season.
Track and field's Reyna Johnson and Cate Joaquin joined volleyball's Sam Chavez, water polo's Libby Slater and Zoe Sloat and soccer's Elise Urkov and Lindsey Porter earned the honor for the first time. Basketball standouts Mia Fleming-Mullins, Nika Bagatelos and Lauren Pank also were selected to the all-city team for their sport.
Lacrosse senior Jade Borg was also selected.
Fauria and Jaoquin were named to both the cross country and track and field squads.
Sport Stars All-City Sports Awards hosted their 10th anniversary at Raley Field, honoring Northern California high school athletes for their academic and athletic accomplishments for the 2018-2019 school year.
