Dinh leads road shutout at Sheldon

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Anna Dinh celebrated her 16th birthday with a double-bagel win at No. 3 singles while also earning the team's "Queen of the Court" sweatshirt, highlighting St. Francis' 9-0 shutout of Sheldon in Delta League girls' tennis dual action Tuesday night.

The Troubadours improve to 6-2 for the season and 3-1 in league play.

Dinh dispatched her counterpart, Zayna Abboushi, by perfect scores of 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. St. Francis won all six singles and all three doubles matchups in straight sets. Junior Tatum Walbeck made her first appearance at line 1 in singles, and responded with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Angela Le.

Furthermore, Tuesday's win included three Troubie debuts in the singles lineup – Sarah Ramos-Lasso (No. 4), Ava Ensberg (No. 5) and Laila Shamshad (No. 6). Katharina Gensler also played her first SF doubles match, pairing with Anya Bilal at No. 3 doubles. Gensler had previously appeared in exhibition entering Tuesday's dual.

St. Francis returns to action in a week for a match at Davis. Note: this Delta League dual was originally scheduled as a home event at Rio Del Oro, but moved across the Yolo Causeway due to a lack of court availability on the Troubies' home court. The new start time will be 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
