Troubie hoop opens section playoffs in Stockton
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis High's varsity girls basketball earned the No. 12 seed of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I tournament and will travel to face fifth-seeded Lincoln of Stockton, the section office announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Troubadours closed the regular season at 14-11 overall and 7-5 in Delta League play, finishing in a tie for third place. The Trojans went 19-8 with an 8-2 mark in the Tri-City Athletic League.

Sophomore Chidera Okoye leads SF in both points (9.7 per game) and rebounds (7.2 per game), although junior guard Jo Jo Myers paced the team in scoring during the 12 league gates at 9.4 ppg. The Troubies enjoyed quality wins against SJS Division II qualifiers Antelope and Grant during the preseason, then came within a bucket of upsetting Del Oro in late January.

St. Francis is ranked ninth among SJS Division I teams, according to the website MaxPreps.com.

Tickets for all CIF-SJS postseason events are available only through the GoFan platform at https://gofan.co/app/school/CIFSJS. A direct link will be available on that page soon.

St. Francis owns eight all-time section titles: five at Division III, two in Division II and the Division I crown in 2011. The Troubies won a state D-III championship in 1993 and a NorCal D-I regional title in 2016.
