Water Polo Coach Heather Moody to Take ARC Post

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis water polo coach Heather Moody has resigned to take the Head Water Polo Coach position at American River College. Moody led the St. Francis water polo program for six seasons from 2013-18. She was originally named the head coach of the St. Francis Water Polo program in August 2013.

"We wish to thank Heather for her extraordinary service over the past six years," said St. Francis Athletics Director Mark McGreevy. "Her time in the red and gold has been nothing short of a blessing for which I'm personally very grateful.  She has been the consummate role model/coach/colleague as she embodies our mission.   She will be greatly missed on our campus and on the pool deck.  We wish her all the best as she takes on this next professional opportunity."

The Troubadours advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs in each of her six seasons, winning the title in 2015 and reaching the finals five times overall. She coached 19 student-athletes to 28 All-Section honors, four All-Americans and 18 USA Water Polo Academic All-Americans. She has tutored seven players that have gone to play collegiately.

"I'd like to thank the athletes and parents for the wonderful opportunity I've had working with you all," said Moody. "It's be a true honor being part of the SF Water Polo family. I would also like to express my gratitude towards the SF staff I've worked with especially Steve Shaff, Ken McGuire, Kelly Ketcham and Mark McGreevy.  I will truly miss being an active SF staff/coach but will always be cheering on the red and gold."

Moody had her best season with the Troubadours in 2015, leading St. Francis to the Sac-Joaquin Section title for the first time since the 2008 season. The Troubies defeated Davis with a come-from-behind 6-5 win in the Division I title game.

Moody will be working with St. Francis very closely to aid in the search and transition to new leadership of the water polo program.
