Troubie delegation qualifies for Sacramento MOC

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior thrower Elise Blomquist, senior distance runner Grace Dunham, freshman jumper Jasleen Gandhoke, senior distance runner Ryann Strawn and senior middle distance runner Kayla Towne each earned spots for St. Francis in the Invitational portion of the Sacramento Meet of Champions, held at American River College this Saturday.

Now in its 41th year, the Bella Vista High School-hosted showcase of area high school track & field talent features an Open meet in the morning, with the higher-seeded athletes competing in the Invitational evening portion.

Blomquist qualified in the shot put, Dunham in the 1,600 meters, Gandhoke in the high jump, Strawn in the 3,200 and Towne in the 800. This is the second straight year that Dunham, Strawn and Towne have earned evening-session berths in those respective events. Additionally, a crew of Troubadours will compete in the morning's Open session: Emma Dobson (3,200), Gandhoke (100 hurdles), Tayli Paeu-Lindgren (long jump), Alexa Randall (400), Sunny Schranz (3,200), Kelsey Sutch (800) plus 4x400 and 4x800 relays.

Live results will be available via Red Cap Timing, with a direct link to be added to the GoTroubies.com schedule soon. A schedule of St. Francis entrants is found below.

The MOC is the third meet of the week for St. Francis track & field, which heads to the second Delta League center meet at Davis on Wednesday, with a small group of Troubies at Sheldon's Glenn Rogers Distance Carnival on Friday.

UPDATE: The Troubies' 4x100 relay, previously an alternate, was added to the meet entries on Tuesday. That event has been listed below.
