AUBURN, Calif. – Senior Grace Dunham won the girls' 3,200 meters with a winning time of 11 minutes, 13.76 seconds, then led off St. Francis' first-place 4x800 relay, while a pair of Troubadour threesomes broke school field relay records as part of the 85th LeFebvre Relays at Placer High Friday.
Additionally, Colleen Medina, Jasleen Gandhoke and Alexa Randall were members of both of SF's victorious 4x200 and 4x400 relay squads.
With the exception of the 3,200, the LeFebvre meet features exclusively relay events in sprints, middle distances, jumps and throws. In field events, each school submits three entrants, and the sum of their marks form the team's total.
In the long jump, Tayli Paeu-Lindgren, Abbey Pavelchik and Morgane Bertran combined for 44 feet, five inches; breaking the 2012 school record by a single inch. Then the trio of Gandhoke, Paeu-Lindgren and Pavelchik collectively went 14-2 in the high jump relay, missing the school mark by just two inches. Individually, Paeu-Lindgren went 17-0 in the long jump, becoming just the third freshman in Troubie history to reach that threshold.
Meanwhile in the shot ring, Elise Blomquist, Antonija Jezildzic and Maysen Boswell amassed a collective 88-7.75, shattering the old record of 85-8.5, set in 2010. That same trio also combined for 249-9 in the discus throw, fourth in school history and the best mark since the SF benchmark of 265-3 back in 2013.
Kyah Pickett joined Medina, Gandhoke and Randall for a winning 1:49.25 in the 4x200 relay, while Kennedy Bishop handled the start with Medina, Gandhoke and Randall following for the 4:16.81 in the 4x400. That 4x200 mark is now fourth in school history. Dunham joined Ryann Strawn, Kelsey Sutch and Kayla Towne to form a 9:58.76 in the 4x800 relay.
Other highlights included Penelope Cole, who broke her six-day-old personal best in the pole vault, this time clearing 8 feet, 6 inches. Teammate Yareli Valencia chipped in a 7-0 on the vault, improving her PR by 24 inches. Gandhoke tied for the meet win with a high jump of 5-0.
St. Francis returns to action in a split-squad weekend: the distance crew will compete in the Dublin Distance Fiesta, while sprinters, throwers and pole vault will take part in a home meet at Jesuit on Saturday.
