2019 Cross Country Highlights
  • The St. Francis cross country team finished sixth overall (213 points) in the girls Division II race at the CIF State Championships, recording their ninth consecutive Top 10 state championship finish.
  • Sophomore Cate Joaquin led the team at the state championships and placed fourth overall in the individual standings with a time of 18:05. It was her second career top-20 finish at the CIF State Championships (2018). It is the best overall finish by a Troubadour at the state meet, improving on the sixth-place finish by Lauren LaRocco (17:26) with the second-fastest time in school history.
  • St. Francis won their fourth consecutive title at the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships. The Troubadours scored 40 points, placing their top five among the top 20 to out-score Rio Americano (62) in the Division II race. It was the 13th section title in school history. Fauria was seventh and Haley Silva was ninth.
  • St. Francis won the JV and Frosh/Soph titles at Sections with Emma Hollenbach winning the JV Div. 1-5 individual title.
  • St. Francis won their third consecutive Delta League title at the Johnson Springview   course. The Troubadours placed seven runners in the top 10 to score 16 points for the win. Joaquin was the first to cross the line to win her second Delta League titles. Fauria, the 2018 champion, was second in 18:28, while sophomore Tatiana Cornejo was third in 18:39.
  • Cate Joaquin was named the Delta League Runner of the Year and six Troubadours earned All-Delta League honors by virtue of the top 10 finish at the league championships. Silva, Hekkanen and Fauria earned the status for the third time in their careers. It was the second honor for Cornejo and Joaquin and first for Daphne Witherell and Simone DeBerry.
  • St. Francis won team titles at the Oakmont Invitational, Josh Ruff Memorial and Delta League meet during the regular season, while finishing fourth at the Woodbridge Invitational, third at the Clovis Invitational and fourth at Mt. Sac Invitational/.
  • Sophomore Cate Joaquin finished 10th at the Footlocker West Regional Girls Championship race in 17:14 to qualify to move on to the Footlocker Nationals in San Diego.
  • Seniors Haley Silva (UC-Berkeley) and Isabella Fauria (New Mexico) made collegiate commitments.
