FROGTOWN, Calif. – The St. Francis cross country program swept all three team races and had the individual winner in each race at the Sac-Joaquin Subsection races Saturday at the Calaveras Country Fairgrounds. The varsity team won with four runners in the top 10 to qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section meet next Saturday to defend their title.
Senior Isabella Fauria won the individual title in 18:37 with sophomore Cate Joaquin on her heels in second in 18:38. Sophomore Tatiana Cornejo was fifth overall in 19:14 and senior Haley Silva finished in sixth (19:15). Junior Hanna Hekkanen was the fifth scorer in 26th overall in 20:27. Daphne Witherell and Claire Silva were right outside the top five in 27th and 31st overall.
The JV team won the team title with 26 points led by senior Elizabeth Cole as the individual winner in 21:00. Senior Emma Hollenbach was second overall in 21:24 with Grace Harrison (21:44, 5th) and Nicole McBride (7th, 21:55) also among the top 10.
Freshman Theone Diviagracia won the Division 1&2 Frosh/Soph race in 13:17 with teammates Peyton Carson in second (13:38), Paige Quigley in third (13:40), Audrey Felsted in sixth (13:54) and Abbie Rexroad in seventh (13:55. Anna Harrison and Abby Page both had top 20 finishes.
The top 10 varsity teams and top six from other races advance to Saturday's section races at
Varsity boys and varsity girls will qualify 10 teams and 10 individuals. All others will qualify six teams and 10 individuals. The D1&2 Frosh/Soph race is at 9:20 a.m. followed by the girls varsity race at 11:30 a.m. and JV girls (Div. 1-5) at 12:02 p.m.
