FOLSOM, Calif. – Sophomore Cate Joaquin paced a St. Francis win at the Josh Ruff Memorial Invitational Saturday at the Willow Hills Reservoir Course in Folsom. Three Troubadours crossed in the top 10 and the top five were all in the top 15 as the Troubies won the team title with 29 points.
Joaquin crossed the line first by six seconds in 18:41. Sophomore Tatiana Cornejo was third in 19:24 and senior Haley Silva placed fifth in 20:14. Freshman Daphne Witherell and Simone DeBerry both recorded top 15 performances in their first varsity race of the season.
Freshman Paige Quigley won the Frosh/Soph race in 14:11 as St. Francis posted a perfect score of 15 with each of the top five finishers.
