Cross Country Earns National Rankings

Cross Country Earns National Rankings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Fresh off their performance at the Clovis Invitational last weekend, the St. Francis Cross Country team has earned some ranking recognition from multiple websites. The Troubadours are as high as No. 8 nationally in the MIleSplitNY Speed Rankings, as well as top 20 listings by High School Harrier at No. 14 in the Terrific 22 and No. 20 by DyeStat (Oct. 10).

"It is huge," said Head Coach Aaron Rios of the rankings. "Over my time at St. Francis, it has been a goal to have recognition locally as well as nationally as a program. The girls put in hard work every day so it is awesome they get recognized for everything they do and the sacrifices they make."

The Troubadours are ranked No. 3 in California by DyeStat Regional Rankings behind Division I programs Great Oak and Buchanan and were No. 20 in the nation in the last national ranking by the website. The next ranking update is on Oct. 24.

The MileSplit Speed Rankings list St. Francis at No. 8. The Speed Rankings are produced by MileSplitNY with TullyRunners to provide a merge of the nation's top performances. The number is attributed to an XC performance, roughly one point per three seconds, adjusted for overall race quality and depth.

High School Harrier website lists St. Francis at No. 14.

The St. Francis cross country team placed third in the Clovis Invitational Girls Championship race behind only two Division I schools Great Oak and Buchanan at Woodward Park, the site of the CIF State Championships.
