Troubies top Wildcats in home finale

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Arden Han-Wei fired a 2-under-par 34 to lead all 11 individual players as St. Francis topped Franklin, 227-237, in a Delta League girls' golf dual at Haggin Oaks Tuesday.

The Troubadours improve to 4-1 in dual play.

Han-Wei's round is her third straight dual under par, following a 3-under 33 against Pleasant Grove on Wednesday and the 1-under 35 at Wildhorse against Davis back on September 27. She was followed in the team scoring by freshman Momina Niazi (45), freshman Nydia Garcia (46), junior Neta Tovar (49), senior Natalie Zipser (53) and senior Bani Chauhan (58).

Miranda Gong was the lone Wildcat under bogey, finishing the day at 6-over-par 42. Tuesday's nine holes took place on the front nine of Haggin Oaks' Arcade Creek course, the Troubies' home venue. It also served as the team's home finale, having originally been scheduled for September 20.

St. Francis heads to Elk Grove for the final regular-season league dual on Wednesday, then will wrap the overall regular season with the third Delta League center tourney, held at WildHawk on Monday. That event also serves as the qualifying tournament for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship, held at Micke Grove Golf Course in Lodi on October 23.
