Softball’s Warren Named Co-Delta League Coach of the Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis Head Softball Coach Kevin Warren was named the Co-Delta League Coach of the Year by his coaching colleagues along with Amanda Buck of Elk Grove for 2019 season.

"It is an honor to be selected for Coach of the Year with Coach Buck by the coaches in our league," said Warren. "It is a tribute to the hard work of our student-athletes and coaching staff for a great season."

St. Francis went 17-11 on the season with a 7-5 record in Delta League play. The 17 wins are the most for the program in eight seasons since SF won 18 games during the 2010-11 season. The Troubadours advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs after a fourth-place finish in the league.

Warren tutored eight players to all-league honors including first-team selections Chloe Smith and Bella Valentine. Three players were selected to play in the Optimist All-Star game and Smith (Villanova), Valentine (Azusa Pacific), Sydney Littles (CS-East Bay) and Arden Hatch (Corcordia (Ore.)) will continue playing softball in college from 2019 senior class.

Warren recently completed his 19th season coaching at St. Francis and fourth since taking over the head coach duties.
