SACRAMENTO, Calif - The St. Francis softball team beat Davis High Wednesday night 11-3.
In the first inning, the Troubies scored five runs to take a 5-1 lead with hits by Caitlin Caldwell, Isabella Valentine, Gabi Guerrera, Daniella Guererra, and Grace Jenkins.
In the second inning, the Troubies scored another six runs by Valentine, Hope Jenkins, Chloe Smith, Caitlin Caldwell, Sydney Littles, and Daniella Guererra to keep the 11-1 lead. Hope Jenkins hit a home run and Valentine hit a double for the Troubies. Caldwell hit a triple and Daniella Guerrera, Chloe Smith also had doubles.
Winning pitcher Hope Jenkins pitched four innings and stuck out six Blue Devils, while Caldwell pitched three innings and struck out two to end the game with a 11-3 win. Hope Jenkins went 3-for-4 at bat.
The St. Francis softball team will play Cosumnes Oaks April 12 at 4:00 p.m.
