Eight Softball Players Earn All-Delta League Recognition

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis softball team had eight players recognized with All-Delta League honors as selected by the league coaches.

Seniors Chloe Smith and Bella Valentine were named to the first-team.

Smith, who signed to play at Villanova, hit .571 with eight home runs and 41 RBI this season for the Troubadours. She led the Delta League in batting average, home runs and RBI. She has recorded 16 multi-hit games on the season. Valentine hit .361 with 20 RBI in her senior season. She will play for Asuza Pacific next year.

Six players garnered All-Delta League second team honors led by seniors Caitlin Caldwell, Gabriella Guerrera, Arden Hatch and Sydney Littles.

Caldwell went 3-0 on the mound with a 3.38 ERA while hitting .338 at the plate. Guerrera hit .303 with six doubles and a home run. Hatch went 5-4 over her final season and Littles hit .395 over 16 games on 17 hits. Littles will play at CS-East Bay with Hatch playing for Concordia (Ore.).

Freshman Grace abd Hope Jenkins also were second-team honorees.
