Three Players Chosen for Optimist Softball Game

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis softball program had three players chosen to play in the 42nd Annual Optimist All-Star Game representing the South Team including Chloe Smith, Bella Valentine and Sydney Littles.

The Large School game is scheduled for May 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Capital Christian with the Small school game at 5:30 p.m. General admission is $10.00; Seniors (65+) $8.00; Students $5.00; kids under 12 $3.00; and kids under 5 are free.

The Large Schools North Team is coached by Sean Erickson from Del Oro High School. The Large Schools South Team is coached by Robert Reed from Vista del Lago High School.

Smith, who signed to play at Villanova, hit .571 with eight home runs and 41 RBI this season for the Troubadours. She led the Delta League in batting average, home runs and RBI. She has recorded 16 multi-hit games on the season.

Littles hit .395 over 16 games on 17 hits, while Valentine hit .361 with 20 RBI, ranking 10th in the league. Littles will play at CS-East Bay with Valentine playing for Asuza Pacific.

St. Francis went 17-11 on the season and advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs.
