SACRAMENTO, Calif. — St. Francis High has drawn the No. 9 seed and will head to No. 8 Oak Ridge for Tuesday's first-round contest of the 2021 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section girls water polo championship tournament, the section office announced Friday afternoon.

First sprint takes place at 3:30 p.m. at ORHS. The winner of the contest will then face top-seeded Davis in the quarterfinal round on Thursday.

St. Francis enters the tourney with a 6-18 overall record and a 1-1 mark that finished second in the three-team Delta League. Juniors Ava Stimson and Gauri Mathrakott lead the Troubadours with 35 and 33 goals, respectively. Mathrakott also has team highs of 24 assists and 75 steals.

SFSH and Oak Ridge previously met on September 21. However, the contest had only one official and thus turned into a scrimmage between the two teams. Oddly, the Trojans were the Troubies' opening foe during the previous CIF-SJS water polo tourney back in 2019. St. Francis won that game, 13-6, behind four goals from then-junior Libby Slater.

Tickets for all CIF-SJS postseason events are available only via the GoFan website and app (https://gofan.co/app/school/CIFSJS). A full Div. I bracket is available at http://cifsjs.org/x/m2fau.
