Peters, Stimson score hat tricks in win at McClatchy

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Senior Rory Peters and junior Ava Stimson each scored hat tricks to lead St. Francis to a 12-5 win at McClatchy in non-league girls' prep water polo action Monday evening.

Junior Gauri Mathrakott added two goals and a team-high five assists for the Troubadours. Peters posted a pair of assists to go with her three goals. In all, SFHS tallied 24 takeaways from the Lions, with goalie Emily Sherrod accounting for six.

The Troubies ran out to a 4-1 lead through the first quarter and held a 9-1 edge at halftime. Emma Kropf and LK Holliday each scored a goal in the first half, while Havana Sperber and Baya McIntosh netted a goal each after the break. Overall, SFHS outshot its host by a 26-11 margin en route to its fourth win of the year.

St. Francis heads west to Napa for tournament action on Friday and Saturday before returning to Delta League play in a home showdown with Davis High on Tuesday, Oct. 26.
