ROCKLIN, Calif. – Senior Grace Dunham placed eighth among the 216 varsity finishers, while Kayla Towne (21st), Ryann Strawn (26th) and Kelsey Sutch (27th) also crossed among the top 30 as St. Francis finished second in the varsity 4-kilometer race at the Oakmont Invitational cross country meet at Johnson-Springview Park Saturday morning.

Dunham posted a time of 14 minutes, 41.0 seconds. Towne (15:08.9), Strawn (15:13.2), Sutch (15:13.7) and Pamela Vargas (37th, 15:28.2) rounded out the remaining Troubadour scorers, with Emma Dobson (47th, 15:49.9) and Elizabeth Gibbons (16:24.30) displacing. ST scored 116 points, edging Granite Bay's 126 for the runner-up team finish behind winner Whitney, which had three of the top 10 for 50 total points.

In the frosh-soph race, ninth grader Sunny Schranz finished second with a time of 15:37.0, trailing only Lodi's Amelia Johnson (15:11.9). Mia Hollar crossed in 20th (17:18.0), Jordan Brace in 24th (17:51.7), Morgane Bertran in 32nd (18:06.7), and Kalaya Moore tied for 40th. Lucia Hash and Jamisen Black displaced in 46th (18:43.4) and 49th (18:46.5) as the Troubies again took second as a team with 97 tallies. Granite Bay dominated the frosh-soph event with 33 points, crossing all five scorers among the top 10.

Finally, the St. Francis junior varsity squad packed all five scorers and both displacers in the top 20 overall: Lucie Pickering Pick (5th), Mykaela Le (7th), Ashlyn Smith (10th), Kyra Lueras (12th) and Stella Davenport (13th) totaled 47 points to finish in a close second behind Whitney's 44. Chloe Rhodes-Nguyen (16th), Zoe Smith (17th) and Chloe' Hickey (20th) also placed among the top 20 in the 80-runner field.

The Troubies return to action in one week, this time heading west to the Lagoon Valley Classic in Vacaville. Race times are 8:14 a.m. (frosh/soph), 9:28 a.m. (varsity) and 10 a.m. (JV).
