Full Troubie squad in action for spring break dual

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Sinclair Yadao scored a career-high 270.75 to lead a field of 11 divers in a Capital Divers intrasquad meet at American River College that also served as the 1-meter competition for the St. Francis vs. Elk Grove swim dual matchup.

More importantly, Wednesday meet served as the first time that all five Troubadours – Yadao, Paige Vicente, Maya Hamilton, Rose Buffleben and Lily Frei – competed at the same time in 2024, despite St. Francis being in spring break.

Wednesday's meet also had an unusual format. Each competitor participated in eight divers rather than the usual six, then the bottom two dives were subtracted to create a six-dive dual score. Furthermore, the divers were ranked not by their totals but rather according to their improvement over their previous season-best total. Yadao led in that category, with 270.75 being almost 28 points better than the 242.85 she posted at Oakmont one week earlier.

Vicente scored a 197.05 for the meet, Hamilton finished with a 172.10, Buffleben compiled 133.20 and Frei totaled 130.25. Buffleben's mark was almost nine full points ahead of her previous PR of 124.75.

Yadao, a Sacred Heart commit, boasts the program's best dual meet score since Molly Wilson and Tiffany Wong amassed scores of 276.70 60 and 273.45 in the April 21, 2016 dual with Sheldon. Former SF assistant coach and three-time Division II All-American Amy Crayne holds the school record of 290.75.

St. Francis takes the next week off from competition, returning to action for a home dual against Pleasant Grove on Monday, April 8, followed by a road dual at St. Mary's two days later.
