Troubies close out regular season on high note

STOCKTON, Calif. – Senior Sinclair Yadao won the overall meet, junior Paige Vicente eclipsed the double-century mark for the second time in as many meets, while junior Maya Hamilton popped a massive personal record, highlighting St. Francis at a high school diving meet hosted by St. Mary's at its own Cortopassi Aquatics Center Wednesday.

The meet, which featured a six-dive dual program, marks the Troubadours' last action before hitting the playoff stretch of their 2024 schedule.

Yadao compiled a 251.20 to beat out Christian Brothers senior and future Sacred Heart University teammate Phifey Boyers, who amassed a 234.35. Vicente totaled a 200.35 to place fourth, while Hamilton was close behind with a 193.35. Vicente's score comes on the heels of the 202.55 in Monday's home dual with Davis. Hamilton's previous best was the 174.80 she posted against CB almost one year prior.

Freshmen Rose Buffleben and Lily Frei represented SF in 11th (123.30) and 17th (91.30), respectively.

The Troubies return to action at the Delta League Championships at Rio Americano on April 17. Yadao will look to snare her third individual championship, having won with a 397.05 11-dive total one year ago.

The after-school meet also serves as the program's annual "Booster-Q" barbecue, with the SF Booster Club providing free hamburgers and hot dogs to all guests.
