Troubie dive competes unopposed against Sheldon

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Sinclair Yadao, junior Paige Vicente, junior Maya Hamilton and freshman Rose Buffleben swept the four finishes as St. Francis swept the 1-meter diving competition in a dual meet officially against Sheldon Wednesday night at American River College.

This is the second straight meet in which the Troubadours have competed in a Delta League dual meet with no opposing divers. Instead, a crew of divers under the tutelage of head coach Dede Crayne took part in their own meet, with representation from Christian Brothers and Kennedy.

Yadao was the overall winner with a 212.75 score, approximately 10 points ahead of CB's Phifey Boyers (202.80). Both divers are not only clubmates under coach Phil Tonne, but each committed to Sacred Heart University in the fall. Vicente scored a 194.85, with Hamilton behind at 163.75. Buffleben rounded out the SF delegation with a 124.75 total.

The scoring will officially count toward the swim team's March 20 double dual with Sheldon and Cosumnes Oaks. That night also marks the dive team's return to action, with a road dual at Oakmont that afternoon.
