Yadao leads Troubie foursome in 2024 season opener

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Sinclair Yadao compiled a 229.45 score to capture the 1-meter diving competition at American River College Aquatic Center Friday. Her score was part of a Delta League double-dual with Franklin and Elk Grove, most of which took place simultaneously at Jesuit High.

The Sacred Heart commit led four Troubies in action at ARC. Junior Paige Vicente finished second at 197.50, with Maya Hamilton (151.30) and Rose Buffleben (115.95) following.

The four Troubadours were the only divers in the 1-meter competiton from any of the three competing schools, resulting in the maximum 13 team points. St. Francis beat Franklin by a 126-57 margin, while also taking down Elk Grove by a 134-29 final.

Head coach Dede Crayne also held the team's suit ceremony as part of the season opener. Similar to the jersey/bag/cap ceremonies from other St. Francis sports, this is a tradition in which Troubie family members extend well wishes to their daughters before presenting them with their competition gear for the season.

St. Francis returns to action on Wednesday in a dual meet with Sheldon. The meet starts at 4 p.m., also at ARC.
