RANCHO MURIETA, Calif. – Co-captains Patricia Sweeney and Olivia Alcoran have never lost a Delta League dual match and they were not about to in their final time teeing up against Pleasant Grove on Thursday. They led a 22-stroke victory over Pleasant Grove at Rancho Murieta Country Club to complete the dual season undefeated and run the program's winning streak to 31 straight matches.
Sweeney shot a two-over par 38 to tie for medalist honors with Pleasant Grove Sadia Sadiq, while Alcoran carded a three-over par 39.
St. Francis (6-0) posted six of the top seven scores in the match and three players recorded birdies in the match (Sweeney, Niazi, Aguero). Nashla Aguero was third on the team and fourth overall with a four-over par 40. Junior Ceci Fletcher carded a 41, while Madelene Lee posted a 41. Haanya Niazi shot a 46.
St. Francis completes the regular season on Monday with the final Delta League Center match at Wildhorse Golf Course in Davis. The Troubies have won the last seven Delta League Center matches dating to the first center in 2016. Teams start on the tee at 11 a.m.
