Volleyball’s Edwards Named All-Metro Player of the Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis senior Alexa Edwards was named the Sacramento Bee's All-Metro Player of the Year in the November 27 edition of the newspaper, joining teammates Ellie Eichhorn, Chloe Henning, Ashely Magley and Jesiree Moral in earning All-Metro honors.

Edwards was chosen the All-Metro Player of the Year after leading the team to the Sac-Joaquin and Delta League titles and a berth in the CIF Northern California Regionals Open Division as the team went 36-3. She was also named the Delta League MVP for the third consecutive season.

Junior setter Ellie Eichhorn and middle blocker Chloe Henning joined Edwards on the All-Metro first-team, while junior right side Ashley Magley was a second team selection. Senior setter Jesiree Moral was named to the honorable mention list.

Henning led the Delta League in hitting percentage and was sixth in kills. Eichhorn was third in assists and assists per set. Magley ranked sixth in the league in kills.
