McGahan, Teoh earn MaxPreps all-section honors

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Brianna McGahan made the second team while sophomore Sydney Teoh garnered honorable mention, representing St. Francis on the MaxPreps 2022-23 All-Sac-Joaquin Section girls' basketball honor roll earlier in March.

The Troubadours went 23-6 overall and 12-0 in Delta League play, earning a Coach of the Year nod for first-year mentor Brittany Woodard. SF went on to advance in the CIF-SJS playoffs for the first time since 2018, beating Rocklin in a first-round matchup back on February 11. This win earned the Troubies a No. 13 seed in the NorCal half of the state championship tournament.

Teoh led St. Francis with 11.5 points per game, with McGahan close behind at 11.2. Teoh also paced the team with 77 assists while McGahan held the steals lead at 94. Both players joined senior Jadyn Weaver on the All-Delta League squad.

Folsom's Kamryn Mafua and St. Mary's Jordan Lee shared Player of the Year honors. McGahan was the only Delta League player on MaxPreps' first, second or third team. Teoh joined Davis' Tessa Schouten and Cosumnes Oaks' Isabel Tan among the league athletes earning honorable mention.

The three SF basketball teams celebrated the 2022-23 season with the year-end banquet on Thursday night. Photos from the event are available here.
