Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Named for 2020-21

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The 2020-21 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be led by President Olivia Reed (Golf), Vice President Maggie Marchant and Secretary Lauren Jones (Swimming), Athletic Director Mark McGreevy announced.

"I'm looking forward to working with this talented group of leaders," said McGreevy. " We're facing uncertainty in our world right now, but I know whatever comes in the new academic year, our Troubadour student-athletes have a thoughtful and service-oriented group of leaders to represent their perspectives and provide valuable assistance to our administrative decision making."

The purpose of the SAAC is to represent the voice of student-athletes at St. Francis Catholic High School and serves as a liaison between SAAC and their respective team.

The remaining sports and at-large reps include Maddie Brown (Tennis), Kenna Delemos (Soccer), Delia Gagnon (Diving), Grace Jenkins (Sofball), Reyna Johnson (Track & Field), Jana Lukas (Cross Country, Lacrosse), McKenna McKrell (Cross Country), Carli Padilla (Volleyball), Lauren Patella (Volleyball), Maggie Price (Soccer, Lacrosse), (Izabel Quackenbush) (Cross Country, Lacrosse) and Libby Slater (Water Polo).

The SAAC meets monthly with AD McGreevy discussing the latest topics and projects of the athletic department. The group also coordinates an annual celebration for the national Girls and Women in Sports Day and leadership activities on campus.

The goals of the SAAC each year are to provide efficient communication with athletic department administration, coaches, staff, faculty and student-athletes concerning SAAC activities, while creating awareness of all programs available within the athletic department. The SAAC encourages participation in all athletic department programs and promotes student-athletes wanting to achieve honor roll status by promoting tools available at St. Francis. They help identify and support issues specific to student-athletes and encourage a sense of community among student-athletes by sponsoring at least one community service project a year.

Water polo's Alyssa Jacobsen and swimming's Emma Peters led the group as President and Vice President in 2019-20.

"I want to give another thankful good-bye to our graduating SAAC members," said McGreevy. "Thanks again ladies for all of your service to your fellow Troubies.  We wish you well in all of your future endeavors and I'm sure you will continue to make us proud!"

Other graduating seniors include Grace Barger (Soccer), Chloe Beebout (Swimming), Alexa Edwards (Volleyball), Emma Hollenbach (Cross Country/Track & Field) and Maddy Miles (Diving).
