Yadao, Vicente lead Troubie divers

RIO LINDA, Calif. – Junior Sinclair Yadao and sophomore Paige Vicente finished second and third respectively, leading St. Francis in a high school 1-meter springboard competition at Capital Divers Wednesday. The meet featured competitors from around the Sacramento area, and served as the diving portion of a Delta League dual meet against Elk Grove.

The Thundering Herd fielded no divers, meaning the Troubadours scored the maximum 13 points toward the meet that was mostly contested at Jesuit High. SF won the dual scoring, 136-19.

Phifey Boyers won the overall meet with a 243.85 score, with Yadao close behind at 236.35. Vicente compiled a career-high total of 193.85 to place third. Maya Hamilton took ninth (160.00), Farah Fox was 12th (125.05) and Sam Powers placed 16th (102.20). The meet represented a new best for Powers, a Troubie frosh cross country runner who picked up diving this spring.

The St. Francis swimmers return to action on Monday against Cosumnes Oaks, but the divers will instead host McClatchy for a 4 p.m. meet on March 29.
