FOLSOM, Calif. – The St. Francis JV Red basketball team posted a 44-38 win in the opening game of the Folsom-Vista Classic over Del Oro to advance to the semifinals. SF plays the Christian Brothers/Davis winner at 7:00 p.m. Friday night at Folsom High School.
Freshman Sydney Dukes had a season-high 13 points, recording her second consecutive game in double figures.
The Troubadours (4-4) broke open a close game in the third quarter as Dukes scored four of her 13 points on a pair of baskets. Freshman Mia Hamerton added four points in the quarter.
Jadyn Weaver did her damage at the free throw line, hitting 7-of-8 at the line in the second half including three crucial free throws in the fourth.
Freshman Emily Kroettinger added nine points in the win with Ava Warren chipping in four points and Molly Strawn adding two.
The win avenged an 11-point loss at Del Oro earlier in the season.
