Yadao places 13th at state championships

CLOVIS, Calif. – Sophomore Sinclair Yadao placed 13th in the one-meter springboard competition as the lone St. Francis representative at the CIF state diving championship at Clovis Olympic Swim Complex Thursday. The finish earns four points for the Troubadours' swimming & diving team scoring total for the weekend.

Yadao, who advanced to the meet by virtue of a Sac-Joaquin Section runner-up finish, scored 410.10 points, edging McClatchy's Salem Howes (410.05) by the minimum increment. San Juan Hills' Avery Giese won the state title at 497.00.

The CIF state meet consists of diving on Thursday, with swimming trials on Friday and finals on Saturday. Besides Yadao, the Troubies qualified five athletes to the state meet, as profiled here: https://gotroubies.com/sports/swimdive/2021-22/releases/20220509lxn55i
