Yadao wins varsity, Dubey wins JV at Delta League dive championships

RIO LINDA, Calif. — Sophomore Sinclair Yadao won the Delta League varsity championship while freshman Vanya Dubey won the junior varsity title, leading St. Francis at the Delta League 1-meter diving championships meet at Capital Divers Wednesday.

Yadao compiled an 11-dive program of 476.60 points, beating out Davis' Maya Schuman and her 411.30 total. Meanwhile, Dubey scored a 239.15 for the JV win, beating out teammate Julia Labriola (195.55).

Paige Vicente (319.85) and Maya Hamilton (274.60) placed sixth and seventh for St. Francis.

The 1-meter diving results and scoring will now be included in the Delta League swimming championships, which concludes on Thursday at Jesuit High School. 

The divers will return to action on Saturday, April 23, for the Jesuit/St. Francis Invitational, which features athletes from throughout the Sacramento area. The SF Boosters will also host the annual Booster-Q at this event.
