EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Sophomore Audrey Bashore scored exactly half of her team's overall points to go with eight rebounds while freshman Carley Glenn shot 2-for-2 from the floor and earned JV Gold's "Hard Hat" award for hustle, as St. Francis fell, 57-36, in a junior varsity-only girls' basketball contest at Oak Ridge Thursday night.
The Troubadours slip to 6-11 for the season and 1-4 in Sierra Foothill League play.
Bashore, on loan from the SF varsity squad, totaled 11 of her 18 points in the fourth period. Jocelyn Dickinson and Emmy Cheatham each netted five points while Glenn scored another four. Glenn provided a literal last-second highlight when she grabbed the offensive rebound and scored the putback to beat the final buzzer.
Dickinson also had four rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots. Lena Mundhenk performed a three-point play as part of the Troubies' 18 points in the final frame, and finished second in rebounds with six.
JV Gold returns to action on Saturday for the 4 p.m. opener of the annual "Holy Hoops" doubleheader at Christian Brothers. St. Francis varsity hosts the Trojans as part of a split-site doubleheader: the Troubies tip off with ORHS at 5 p.m., then Jesuit takes on Oak Ridge at home at 7 p.m. The SF varsity then takes part in the 6 p.m. nightcap of Saturday's rivalry twinbill.
