SF falls to Sheldon in semifinal at Lincoln

LINCOLN, Calif. – St. Francis shot just 27 percent from the field, including 1-for-14 from free-point range, in falling to Kennedy by a 48-29 final on the second day of action of the Lincoln Invitational girls' prep basketball tournament at Dale Pence Gymnasium Saturday.

The Troubadours slip to 6-5 for the season.

Senior Sydney Teoh led the way with 14 points, with junior Lexi London adding seven and sophomore Tayli Paeu-Lindgren chipping in four points with a team-best 11 rebounds. London also grabbed six boards, matching the total of junior Annie Swanson. St. Francis moves to the third-place game against either Rio Linda or the host Zebras on Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

Earlier in the day, the St. Francis junior varsity lost to former Delta League foe Sheldon, 76-42. Freshman post Catherine Gustafson, who left Friday's game due to an injury, came back strong with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow ninth-graders Jocelyn Dickinson and Emma Cheatham matched those 11 points, as the Troubies played with only five players throughout.

The SF jayvees also conclude the tournament in the third-place game, taking on Kennedy at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
