SF jayvees face Inderkum with minimum roster

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Sophomore post Tayli Paeu-Lindgren notched her second consecutive double-double, finishing with career highs of 26 points and 18 rebounds to lead St. Francis to a 61-51 victory over Inderkum as part of the all-day Fortune Basketball Showcase at Fortune Early Saturday afternoon.

The Troubadours improve to 2-1 for the season.

Paeu-Lindgren eclipsed her previous scoring high of 18, set during her freshman year against Franklin High; and surpassed her old rebounding best of 16 from earlier in the week against Rio Americano. She shot 8-for-12 from the floor and hit 10 of 16 from the free-throw line. Senior Sydney Teoh added another 17 points, junior Laila Mendoza chipped in eight, while junior Lexi London contributed six points and 10 rebounds.

Offensively, St. Francis departed from the perimeter game that resulted in 45 three-point attempts in the first two games against Vista Del Lago and Rio. The Troubies shot 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, with London making two and Mendoza the other.

The 10 rebounds also marks the first double-digit performance for London, who had a pair of seven-rebound nights as a sophomore in 2023-24.

Earlier on Saturday, St. Francis junior varsity fielded the minimum of five players in a road visit to Inderkum, falling by a 63-44 final depsite having literally zero bench players. Sophomore Audrey Bashore, on loan from the SF varsity squad, made five buckets and shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line for a team-leading 18 points. She also posted 16 rebounds for a double-double.

Freshman Emmy Cheatham drained her team's only three-pointer en route to 12 more points, including 10 after the halftime break, while Catherine Gustafson chipped in 10 points and nine boards. All five players stepped up to the center court as co-captains pregame, and all five were awarded head coach John Bashore's "Hard Hat Award" for hustle.

Both SF squads return to action on Tuesday for a home doubleheader against Monterey Trail. JV tips off at 5:30 with varsity following at 7 p.m.
