SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Freshman JoJo Myers of the JV gold basketball team is  named GoTroubies.com Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 25-30 after hitting a stunning three-pointer at the buzzer to help the JV Gold team defeat Sacred Heart 59-58 and complete a 2-1 weekend at the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Jamboree. Myers scored 41 points over the weekend in three games (13.6 ppg.)

Myers, who is a freshman, is very excited for the upcoming season. Myers talked about her game winning shot saying," My teammate Maya Hilger saw me and assisted a pass for the shot that won the game. So it was definitely a team effort and it felt amazing to end the tournament with a win".

Cate Joaquin of Cross Country was also nominated for this award after her CIF State Championship performace.

Are you excited for this years season?

"Yes, I am very excited for the upcoming season mainly because it hasn't started yet so i can't wait for what's to come."

What are you looking forward to?

"I am very excited to see our team become closer through team bonding and can't wait for all the wins that are waiting for us."

What is your favorite thing about Basketball?

"My favorite thing about basketball is definitely having the chance to play a sport I love with a team full of friends."
